Michi is by far the BEST sushi in this area. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but worth every sinful bite. Mr Shin the owner is always there, says hi and usually gives us a complimentary saki. It is hard to eat any other sushi and it is never as fresh or good as Michi.
Michi is one of those restaurants that is trying a little too hard in providing an upscale vibe. The food is good but not great and extremely pricey for food that doesn't require cooking. C'mon 45 bucks for assorted sashimi ( nothing on that plate was exotic, just the usual stuff you find at other sushi restaurants for a fraction of the price ). My first visit several years ago was a good experience, my second visit recently felt as if I walked into a different place.
About 7 years ago I was driving down Winchester blvd and saw this line of people going into Michi Sushi so we stopped went in and had by far some of the best Sushi rolls in all of the U.S. I have been to many Sushi bars and by far Michi blows away them all. Mr Shin the owner is so warm and happy it's like a big happy family and every time we go he brings us a complimentary appetizer. The sushi chefs are fun and I've never had a problem. All of the Sushi is fresh and big even one roll would fill you up. If you go on a Friday get there early so you don't have to wait for a seat.
This is the place to go for Sushi in Campbell.
While it is one of those Korean run Japanese food restaurants, they manage to exude a charm that most other sushi restaurants do not have. They are extremely friendly and they atmosphere is energetic. It might be useful to note that they are often packed on the weekends, so you might want to show up as early as possible to ensure you get in and out on time.
Added to the excitement is the fact that their fish is very fresh. This is a very important factor, and should be obvious to anyone that will go out of their way to avoid those mall sushi boat places. The fish is very good and in very generous portions. So, you will feel full, satisfied, and as if you have actually eaten your money's worth.
The prices are fair. While a bit higher than some similar sized restaurants, their portions make up the difference, and the freshness push them over the top.
For a fun, affordable place to get your fill of sushi Michi's is the best in the south bay.
This place was great! TONS of rolls to select from (almost too many). The atmosphere was very upbeat, Mr Shin the owner, was walking around taking pictures with different tables and handing out saki shots. I read some reviews stating the waitstaff was snobby - not true at all - in fact exactly opposite.
The rolls/sushi are expensive (and I've lived in both New York and California - so you would think I'm used to high prices!) but for the quality they are worth every dollar. Very big, exotic and tasty.
Kudos to Mr Shin and his very fun, very yummy restaurant!!
