I am shocked at some of the reviews below even though most of them are old. I have been going to this cafe for 8 years about once a month. The owners ( I do not know them by name) are very hands on. They are there from opening to close and serve the customers. I like knowing someone who is vested in their business actually works in it daily. With that said, their food has always been fresh, hearty and a good value. The portions are large and the service is good for a small family run place. I have rarely waited long for a table ( 10 minutes max). They have a bench outside and newspaper racks, gotta love that. I am old school and still love the Sunday paper, especially the SF one. Their omelets are fantastic and they have a wide selection. Love their french toast and pancakes. The fruit is always fresh. The service is spot on without being intrusive, Unlike some of the other places in Hollister, this place is spotless. You will not find sticky floors, dirty tables or cracked plates and cups. I love the Fiesta Ware they use, very pretty. I have never had one bad experience there in all these years and I am picky as hell. For this reason I don t feel the need to try any of the other establishments in Town. Once I find a gem like this I am a loyal customer. I wish I had something negative to say or something they could improve on, sadly I do not. They get a A+ from me. Great Food, not greasy, always fresh, good value and friendly service.
Terrible terrible food/service. the waitress (Who happens to be the owners wife) was rude and disrespectful to me and my children. I asked for a high chair and it took them 10 minutes. there was a boy named Aaron who came to get our drink (Which took another 10 minutes) and one of the drinks was wrong. then our food came and i had possibly the most dried up steak imaginable. the eggs were undercooked (made by the owner himself) my childrens pancakes had grease on the bottom (Shockingly). I was then overcharged. all in all this place is not child friendly nor a good atmosphere to eat. Country rose is much better.. or even Mcdonalds breakfast is better. Awful Awful place. The owner (Frank) even came around and was very pushy about talking to people. I ususally dont rate places like this but in this case people should KNOW NOT to come and eat at Cozy Cup Cafe.
I want this to be a good little place, but I've got mixed reviews. Once, their cream of mushroom soup enchanged my tastebuds. I overlooked the service being good to take orders and then go away. I went today, wasn't feeling too good and wanted some good homemade soup. The Navy Bean soup was tasty, but the bean skins were a bit tough. No ham detected and isn't that the heart of the soup? I wonder why these people want to me give them my money when they don't hardly acknowledge that I'm there. A smile or follow up makes me want to return; ignoring me, allowing my glass of tea (at $2.19 a glass) stay empty throughout my meal -- sucks. They were very friendly to their regulars but for a single diner, they were apathetic. Why should I return? Soup was okay but I want somewhere that appreciates my business.
