This is the best sushi resturant in Milpitas. The servers are very friendly and the staff creates a family enviroment. Names are remembered. At Sushi Kai people are people not just customers. Oh, yeah, and the food is fresh, not like some sushi bars I've been to.
The sushi here is the best! The prices are great and the people are even better. We lived in San Jose and moved to Morgan Hill. We still take the time to drive to Milpitas for great sushi. Like I said, you really have to be crazy not to love this place!
I eat sushi 2 or 3 times a week at various places in the Bay area. I tried out this restauranted today for the first time because of the ratings. In terms of the quality of the sushi, I would rate it below average judging from freshness and how the sloppy/messy the fish was cut (you would think that it was the first time the sushi chef had every cut fish.) The restaurant appeared a bit dirty so I wouldn't bring clients/colleagues/friends/dates here. I guess you can't trust all the ratings. I will not be coming back.
Hole in the wall sushi restaurant which is suprising since it's located in the suburbs so you'd think it'd be a nice restaurant. Don't let the simple decor fool you, the sushi here is not only of high quality but also come in the largest slices I have ever tasted and seen. Service gets slow when it's busy as they never seen to have enough staff during peak times but it's worth the wait!
I've only found this place 3 months ago but have gone there 10 times already. Love the sushi and the service is phenomenal. Very casual, sometimes they are extremely busy during rush hours so beware, but they always seem to take care of you. Great selection and variety.
after reading all the reviews, i decided to try it out myself, unfortunately, it's not a pleasant experience
i was being ignored after they served the tea, i had to grab the pen from the counter myself and gave the menu to the sushi chief myself, there were only 3 tables of customers at the time, 3 servants, no one bother to serve me
i was being asked if everyone's OK after the sushi chief complaint to the servants about me giving him the menu myself, then i was being ignored the rest of the time
they gave me the wrong change back twice, i had to walk to the counter and asked to check my bill
I've been going to Sushi Kai for many years now. I still try to go atleast twice a month. The food is great, the service is excellent. It can get a little crowded during peak hours, but it just adds to the environment which is very friendly.
I was so glad to find this Japanese Restaurant in Milpitas. I love the informal environment. The servers are warm and attentive. The guests seem to be old comers who know each other and know the sushi chef. Love the crowd. Though the decor is not impressive, this is the type of shop that has great food. So, the homy decor makes you feel relaxed.
Sushi are fresh. I went at a not too busy hour, so I got my sushi freshly and well made by the sushi chef. Volcano dessert is yummy and tasty. I tried Milpitas Roll and I loved the taste. I am glad I found this store and I am definitely coming back.
