Thai Bistro, Novato

My wife and I prefer a vegan diet. We asked that they prepare something for us. The 2 meals were outstanding. The decor was charming and warm.

First the positive. I enjoyed the meal. The service was attentive, and the food was overall good and beautifully presented. Now the negative. The beef in two dishes was tough and seemed old. It really subtracted from an otherwise fine meal. And why while I really liked the curry, it was overly sweet. Bring a couple of credit cards, too, because the prices are on the side. But all in all, I can recommend the restaurant and I will go back some day.

Decent, run-of-the-mill suburban Thai restaurant that cooks up all the usual suspects. Ask for the recommended dishes. The owners will steer you to the better stuff. Everything is made here, so you're getting fresh but not spectacular cooking. Can be a little too heavy on the fish sauce and salt. Dinner for two who eat a lot of food will cost $35 with beer.
