We drove all the way from Palo Alto to try this restaurant because we saw a superb review on Check Please. I ordered steak, which I will only do in a fine restaurant. What a disappointment! It was cooked with a lot of anchovy and that made it taste extremely fishy. I have only sent back a very few dishes in my life, but this was one of them. Another person at our table did the same. They somewhat reluctantly remade the dish but it was still mediocre. My wife's fish was salty and smelled fishy.
On the plus side: My nettle soup was excellent, the wines are very reasonable, the setting is really nice, the waitress was nice, and the little town is charming and worth a visit.
I will be back for all these reasons, but with lowered expectations. I consider this place average for what it is trying to be: a high-end French restaurant.
