Yet Wah Restaurant, San Rafael

I've dined at this restaurant many of times through the years both when it was originally located in Larkspur landing and to it's current location in central san rafael so I believe I can definitely say a lot about this restaurant. The food is great although the dim sum (during lunch) is lacking otherwise and takes a long time if you are on a short lunch break. I would suggest going with the lunch specials which provide a soup, appetizer, entree with rice. The atmosphere is different than your normal chinese joints (warm colors and dim lighting give it more of a romantic feel). The decor is unique and they even have a full bar and a lounge area with sofas if you're there just for cocktails. The menu offers many choices and you can always request to have it cooked the way you want it. For example, if you like broccoli instead of snowpeas, you can ask the waiter/waitress and they will kindly let the chef know. The same goes for spices, garlic, etc. They deliver, take out, and are open late night which you will not find in most Chinese restaurant. Lastly, driving by on Christmas day showed me how popular his restaurant was. They are open on Christmas day and boy was it packed! This alone should show their dedication to serving great food to Marin for over 30 years.

Sorry to hear that the last reviewer had a bad exprience, but things have changed at Yet Wah since 2005. My wife and I love this place. The food is excellent and the service has been great the many times we've visited. In addition to the late dinner hours, they deliver! Hope you enjoy!
