My boyfriend and i visit star allot. We love the girls! managment sucks since the old ones sold it. We see this guy stand by the regester on his cell phone yelling to the girls every time he needs something...which gets annoying to us when hes trying to ask them questions while their trying to talk to us and take our order... but the girls are the same and their what keeps us coming back for more. For future customers, theres a Stephany who rocks. Shes a talker and its awesome! Most waitresses say what they need to a get a move on, but she takes the time to really get to know you. Theres another girl who looks like her twin, maybe sisters? Shes the same way, a little quieter but deffinatly an amazing waitress. And the last one that we know is Julie. Shes some kind of mindreader, always bringing us things that we didnt know we needed but we did. Shes really funny, and very nice. Always smiling and laughing and rolling out the red carpet for anyone and everyone. We only go in on tuesdays and saturdays because of our work schedual, but im sure all star girls are just as awesome! Hats off to you ladies!
Star used to be my favorite restaurant in Novato, until today. I can honestly say that I was extremely pleased with their services, but that has completely changed. I always get the HEARTH AND HEATLHY BREKFAST, which is not meant to contain any DAIRY, such as Butter; or no OIL. Once, I had to clarify that I was a vegan so I asked for no dairy or oil, they told me that specific meal would NEVER contain such ingredients, I was happy. Ever since then, I did not have to clarify being a vegan, which I regret today.
This happened to me today, I went to the restaurant and I order what I would ALWAYS get. The meal I would always get was, 2: 9-GRAIN TOAST (NO BUTTER) +EGG BEATERS+FRESH FRUIT+JELLY+BREAKFAST POTATOES= HEART AND HEATHLY BREAKFAST.
Today the food they gave me was not HEALTHY at all. My toast (which was a wheat, and NOT THE 9-grain toast they used to give me) had A LOT OF BUTTER, you could see the butter in the plate (it was disgusting). The eggs were GREASY; the FRUIT WAS OLD (The amount given was about ½ the amount they used to). The potatoes were brown (OVERCOOKED), and I had to ask for JELLY because they did not bring it.
I am completely disappointed with the services they offered my friends and me. Their services have completely changed. Maybe it is because of the change in management, or maybe it is because of the waitress.
I would not recommend you to go there, because the service has completely changed and you will NOT be satisfied.
Used to love Star Restaurant, but this year we were disappointed twice so we do no go to Star anymore as we have cut back on dining out so when we do go, we want to enjoy our dinner.
I thought that perhaps the original management was not there anymore. The staff is still nice, the portions are huge, but the ambiance and the food is not as good as it once was. For example, the pancakes are not light and fuffy but kind of big and thick.
What appears to be a new manager seems frustrated and crabby at the register, the staff seems not to be as organized as they used to be. We miss the previous managers as they were always so relaxed and kind to us.
Little things like no fruits added on your plate can make a big difference to us as diners. Or having to get your own jellies because there were none at the table and the poor waitress is too busy to be found.
The sausage is not tasty but tastes as if it has been sitting around too long. We didn't get sick but surely the manager would want his customers to have tasty sausage?
We used to love having a slice of orange or some grapes with our protein plate, but these are not given anymore.
So, we do not go to Stars anymore and we miss the way it used to be. It is too bad.
They are always full of customers tho', so you might want to try it if you don't mind taking a chance.
Absolutely great food at a reasonable price and the service is wonderful. There is more than two hundred items to choose from and practically anything you order, it will leave you wanting to come back for more. The two men that own the restaurant make sure that every customer receives the best service as possible and go out of there way to make sure that you are happy and satisfied. The best part is that the restaurant is open from 6 in the morning till 11 at night, 7 days a week. (It is a must) I have to at least try to make a trip out there once a week.
