Guaymas Restaurant, Tiburon

It was our anniversary and we were very much looking forward to a new experience based on lots of input from friends in the area. We loved the location, had a great seat with no wait to get to the table. Then we waited...The Top Self margaritas tasted flat and a little lime heavy...The goat cheese salad was ok, my husband ordered albondagas soup but was brought tortilla soup. When he said he'd ordered the other, the bus person said, no, and tried to give him the bowl of soup he'd brought until my husband insisted. I was nearly through with my salad when the waiter came over and said they were out of albondagas and would he like to have the tortilla soup. My husband agreed and was brought what seemed to be the same, now tepid, bowl of soup. It could just have easily been from the soup bar at Fresh Choice. When the bill arrived, we had been charged for the more expensive bowl of albondagas! Unreal. On a positive note, the main course meals were spectacular. The camarones and the chicken and steak kebabs were delicious. If you go, don't waste time and money on appetizers, etc, the main courses are what shine.

Drove up for an afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by the great, food, view and wait staff. Our first experience in Tiburon and will not so forget. We will be back! Would highly recommend to anyone.

One of my favorite restuarants. Great food and great location. Sitting outside on a sunny day with a great view of S.F. is perfect way to dine.

i liked the service. we are not experienced mexican restaurant diners and all servers were very helpful. we started with sangria which was fantastic. we had the tasting menu appetizer that was very, very, good. we stuck with the specials for our main course. my wife had a taco type salad and i had a mixed grill of seafood. both were excellent. the prices were reasonable and i will go back any chance i get when i travel to the area from raleigh, north carolina....home of the 2006 Stanley Cup Champions. this is a very, very good restaurant. it's not daniel in nyc, but very good for what it does.

Having just written a review for my local Chevy's, I was reminded of Guaymas, only so far that both are on the water, both feature Mexican. Honestly, I don't consider Guaymas as significantly memorable apart from the location and views--the food is fine, though. A notch above an El Torito or Chevy's, with a bump in price to reflect that. What I do like most is it's right where the Tiburon ferry dumps off, so it makes for a great adventure to head out there from the City by ferry, if you're looking for something different to do one weekend. I've had the Camarones a la sal de Roca as well as the Carnitas Uruapan; both were good stuff. Worth checking out.

There is indoor and outdoor seating--we love to sit outside for a breathtaking view of San Francisco, Angel Island, and the San Francisco Bay! The food is excellent--a cross between California Cuisine and traditional Mexican food. The service is excellent and personable, the food is delicious, the prices are reasonable and the view can't be beat! A wonderful place for old and new-comers to San Francisco...great for special occasions or any occasion. My favorite!

I went there about a year ago with my boyfriend. The food is absolutley delicious and it overlooks, the San Fran Bay! We went for dinner, so we saw the Golden Gate, and all the pretty stars Light up the sky! I highly recommend it!- especially for all you love birds out there!
