I always order the same dish, so the food is G-R-E-A-T as far as I'm concerned! Fun atmosphere where you're given nuts and bread before your meal. You're highly encouraged to throw your leftover nutshells on the floor. The pre-meal buns with the cinnamon-flavored spread is one of the best I've tasted. The menu selection is pretty varied for a steakhouse. There's even something for those cowboys and cowgirls who are watching their figures. Good for hanging out with friends or a quick lunch date.
Had a really bad steak, smaller then order, way overcokked and nothing was done exect give us the bill.
My friends steak was salty, and because it wasn't cut uniformally it was overcooked to undercooked.
This is a joke for a place that is suppose to have real steaks.
Unless customer service steps up to the plate and make amends I won't be back.
While not a big meat-eater, the burgers are great here, and don't forget to try those spicy Rattlesnake Bites! And who doesn't like shucking peanut shells on the floor? It's like being a kid again!
A few tips:
1) If you love those salty peanuts, ask your waiter about purchasing a feedbag. For a mere $5, you get unlimited free peanuts for life!
2) If you have difficulty finding parking, head straight to the Michael's/Petco/Linens 'N Things parking lot. Plenty there, and it's only a short trek... (more time to digest all that food!)
Texas Roadhouse has probably some of the best steaks in a part of the east bay that is a dearth for good restaurants. Yes its a chain, yes its in one of the worst designed strip malls for parking EVER (Union Landing are you listening?), yes the wait is typically an hour or more(use call ahead seating if you go), but the food, service and ambiance is totally worth it. Ribs with meat that fall off the bone, rolls with cinnamon butter, and where else can you throw peanut shells on the ground? Country music in the background and NASCAR on the TV with down-home service to match. I have never left this meat-and-potatoes haven hungry and its a lot of fun if you're in a group.
I went with my parents and the atmosphere is fun and festive w/ fresh roasted peanuts you can eat and toss the shells on the floor and the best fresh bread I've had in a long time. The steaks were AMAZING especially the Dallas Filet. Definitely the best steakhouse in the area.
