Max's of San Ramon, San Ramon

The wait on a weekday night is unacceptably long. I really liked the food at Max's in SF near the Moscone Center before they closed. This Max's in San Ramon is not as good. The dessert bar gets a little disgusting by the end of the night...little kids are unsupervised in getting their dessert.

Meat was over cooked missing baked spud but had the sour Creame chives and butter well there this was a take out NEVER AGAIN!!!!

The first time I went there, the service was decent, the food so-so. I never like to judge on a first try so I went back a few months later. I have never had such poor service. I requested food that never came (but was put on the bill). We had to ask for silverware and coffee cups. The food was cold, some undercooked. The waitress apologized, but made no effort to correct the situation. I will never go back. There are too many good places in the area.

Just went to Max's with a party of 17. The banquet room was large and they were great with us. We changed the time of our reservation, and they accommodated us well and we even arrived late. Shame on us! But they are not as busy on a Sat afternoon. So its a great time to have a large group. The only thing that grossed me out, was the silverware was dirty. Caked on food! Food was good, but I wouldn't say it was the best I ever had, because it wasn't. I give the food about a Ct or B- Cheesecake was really good! 1/2 slice was bigger than most. I'll go back again...I'll just bring my own clean silverware.

Haven't had too much here I didn't like. I highly recommend the focaccia with cheese as an appetizer.
