I've dined at Cafe Esin twice. The location is pretty crummy. It's tucked back in a small strip mall off San Ramon Valley Rd. next to a good sushi place and a pool hall. I have never liked the design of this shopping center that also houses Big Horn Grill. Once inside the front door, however, your are treated to some of the best dining in the area. The food is wonderful and quite different from comparable local eateries. The desserts are the real specialty. The wait staff needs a bit of work, but overall service is pretty good. I am looking forward to see how the Cafe Esin's move to Danville changes their offering.
Went there for our 26th Anniversary, we definitely liked it a lot! The place is very cousy, nicely and elegantly decorated. Food excelent with great variety of Med. appetizers, wine selection good and main entrees exquisites. The service was also excelent. Lastly, the Desserts are a Pro. and a Must! Cafe Esin good place for romantic dining & wining. We'll back to this Cafe.

I have to say after reading the previous review I was a little reluctant to go to this restaurant. I was truly pleased with everything. The food is actualy American with a little bit of Med. mixed in. We had the Petrale sole special and it was so perfectly cooked and fresh. It melted in my mouth and the accompaniment of heirloom tomatoes and capers was right on! We also tried the signature dish( the server reccomended highly) Pot roast. MY OH MY!!!! I have never had such a tender and flavorful piece of meat. It was over mashed potatoes with this rich wine sauce. We had dessert and well lets just say that it was darn impossibe to choose just one from the unreal selection. So we had 2. I really never eat dessert but this time I just had too. We had the banana cream pie and the pumpkin bread pudding. The desserts were superb. The service was excellent and friendly to. I can't wait to go again.
