honestly, i would pass. my boyfriend &i are huge sushi fans. but i probably wouldn't go back. he liked it, but i really didn't like what was there. the people were nice, but the overall setting of the restaurant didn't seem clean. it seemed sticky and just really out there. i didn't feel comfortable.
Only went here once. Awful experience.
Normally when you order rolls at a sushi restaurant, you get a FULL ROLL. I ordered a regular roll and a hand roll each costing $4.50. These pieces were served on a ridiculously small plate and were themselves ridiculously small.
I got four pieces of sushi. They were small pieces, and that counted as a roll to them (so each tiny piece cost me about $1.25). Not to mention that the only things in the roll were the fish and rice.. You'd expect to find maybe some avocado or some celery or even some fish eggs... but nope. A small amount of meat covered in rice...
I also bought a hand roll. It was just a mount of salmon with rice in seaweed.. with two insignificant slices of avocado.. didn't even taste it..
Their menu was entirely unhelpful.. no pictures or anything, so I didn't know what to expect. To my dismay, my meal was wholly unsatisfying.. Thank god my friend was there and couldn't finish his rice...
DO NOT BUY SUSHI ROLLS OF ANY SORT HERE. THEY ARE EXTREMELY OVERPRICED FOR THE SMALL AMOUNT OF FOOD YOU GET
This was by far, the worst customer service I had ever received. My friends and I were rushed to order by four different servers in a ten minute time frame. I am a manger at the Chuck E. Cheese in Hayward so I feel that I do know a thing or two about excellent guest service. Upon paying the bill, the server felt the need to confront us about not leaving a tip and had the audacity to yell at us because she felt she did a good job. Even though she never check back with us once and someoneelse had brought us our food.
The price is reasonable, not really expensive compared to other sushi restaurants I have come so far.
I always have unagi and california rolls, but when I went there , as my friend recommended, I chose Dragon roll, and it tastes really good, fish is fresh ,sushi rice is sticky and does not taste sour.
Sushi is good, Fish is fresh. Service was good, friendly and patient server. The food (ie Chicken&Beef Teriyaki were as good as any other place around of this type.Tempurah was decent. overall good value and best place we have found in the area so far and we have tried almost all others in 20 mile radius last year, or so since moving to Union City. It was family friendly too and close to movie theater(next door). Overall good experience But our favorite Sushi place in bay area is still Hotaru in San Mateo! (Very authentic!)
This location of Sushi Boat was great. The chicken teriyaki was as great as at any other Japanese places that I have ate at, both sit-downs and fast food. The tempura was great as well.
Since this was the first location that I've ate at, I am willing to eat at their other location at San Jose's Valley Fair.
