Samui Thai Restaurant, San Ramon

This restaurant is just next to my apartment. I surprised there is a Thai restaurant here I don't even know and there is another one in the same shopping center. The server seems friendly but has hard time to understand what we requested. It was so hot that day and will be good to have my favorite drink??beer. Unfortunately this restaurant has no alcohol license. This restaurant used to be a burrito express. So it has open kitchen and we can see the way chef handle our food. You can tell the chef isn?�t really experience and the food is not really tasty. It was kind of slow while we dined in there??only two tables including us. But food came out slow. We waited 20 to 25 min to get our order. While we were eating, we heard the worker ?�maybe this couple are owner?? argued inside. Yes, they do have good price. But I only can say we paid what we got.

I have eaten here a number of times and every dish I have had was very good. They appear to use quality ingredients, not like many asian restaurants! The portion sizes are generous and I never go away hungry and usually with leftovers for later! :-) The prices are very reasonable. The Ambiance is a bit like a cafeteria, but not uncomfortable at all. Very friendly workers with attentive service. If you want tasty Thai food and friendly service, this place is surely the best of Danville and San Ramon!

Although the atmosphere could use some work (it appears that the owner hasn't really done much remodeling at all since taking over the burrito shop that was there) the food, service and friendliness of the workers was great. The portion sizes were plenty! I was filled on the tasty Pad Kee Mao dish that I had even without having any appetizer. And the Thai Ice Tea was just right! Not too sweet and not too strong. My friend also said the Gai Himmaparn (Cashew Nut Chicken) was excellent. I will be going back for sure. Upon returning from Thailand I have found it difficult (although not impossible) to find really good Thai food in this area. And along with the friendly service I can put up with the subpar surroundings with the hope that their business will thrive and that they will eventually upgrade the place. Give them a try, I am sure you will be happy with the food and service. But don't go there if you are looking for a nice place to bring a date!

Samui was introduced to me by my boss. She said she likes it. So I went and tried it. She was right, the food was delicious. My favourite would be yellow curry. Its really good. The service was great too. Friendly staffs. And the price are really reasonable. Eventhough the environment doesnt look like thai place. The decor wasnt fancy at all but the food sure worth to try. Maybe they can renovate the place and turn it into an authentic look. If you're in local area. And like thai, maybe you should give this a try.

Went their for take out. Service was friendly and fast. Food was tasty, and reasonably priced. However, I think they should increase the serving size by about 20 percent. The best Thai in San Ramon for the money.
