I used to come here and eat with my friends then I started to come occasionally evry friday night. but last night friday was awful, I think the bartenders name is tom i walked in the bar sat down for almost 5 min and i saw tom look in my direction and he told a hostess to get my drink order, like he was too busy. it was steady he had time to greet me but it didnt happen. he poured me my beer without asking me what size, and i had to tell him i want a large one and he replied oh its 6.50 tho. i thought to myself i didnt asked. And he waited on me before and wasnt nice but i still tipped him but not this time , i didnt feel i was treated like a guest, i paid and left no tip. this time. last time i ever go there!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved this place. it was great, but the last time I went there, there was a young guy serving me, but he had such a thick accent that I couldn't even understand what he was saying, he also had a really cocky attitude that i didn't like one bit. This makes me not want to return.
We are in town for business, we stopped by the Englander Pub to check it out and we LOVED IT! Great pub food, draft beer, sports, and good times! Will go back before we leave! Would recommend to everyone!
One word: Nachos. Everything on the menu is great but I gotta say a favorite of my friends and I are their nachos. You get a huge heaping plate full. And the employees are great as well. The waitresses are very personable and so is the owner. If your there at the right time there's live entertainment as well, but if not they have about 30 tv's on the walls so you won't miss your game, no matter what it is. My Aunt threw my cousins b-day in the back room and service was great as well.
Great Pub atmosphere, reminescent of pubs I've visited throughout Australia,Ireland and the UK.A very nice selection of ales to choose from, there's a pint for anyone on their board. However, expect to pay for pints and pub grub in GBP.
Great place to go on Fridays after work to have a couple of beers. I used to think the staff was a little slow (serving the food) but the service has improved. They have an extensive menu, from Cuban sandwich (not the best) to fish and chips.
They have an excellent beer selection which is reason enough. I really enjoy the chicken tikka masala. The service is usually great, although there are a couple of people in the staff that seem to be space cadets. It is best to avoid when the local sports teams are playing, especially in important games as it brings out the worst of San Leandro.
Great place to grab a beer and watch the game, lots of satellite TVs all around the place, extensive beer selection, English pub-like atmosphere, large dining area including several rooms in back, food is good and prices are moderate, Fish and chips is excellent as you'd expect, light flavorful batter and 3-4 large pieces of fish to go along w/ crisp delicious fries (chips), house specialty, lots of expatriates for special events normally about who can help you brush up on your British accent :) close to BART and downtown San Leandro
I'd rate it a 5stars as a sports bar, 4 as a restaurant
