Wow! Excellent, food, service, experience. I had the rib-eye steak, cooked to perfection. Mac and cheese was also great! Very pricey, tho worth it. Great for special ocassions. Definitely coming back for more....can't wait. Everyone in my party loved their food as well.

I was impressed with everything. The food was delicious!!! The service was great!!!! It is a bit pricey but well worth it. The halibut was perfect and a large portion. I highly recommend it.

A bit pricey, and everything is alacarte, but definitely a top drawer experience. These people know how to prepare a piece of beef. I had the bone-in ribeye, and it was done to perfection. My date had a beef wellington that was on the special menu, and she enjoyed it. We enjoyed the crab stuffed portobello appetizer. A raw vegetable bucket started the evening off, packed in crushed ice and served with a very nice dressing. Hap's is not for everyone, nor is it an everyday thing for most. Dinner for 2, including tip and 1 drink each was $175. We passed on the wine, and could not manage dessert, mostly because of the generous portions. Service was impeccable; attentive, but not a nuisance. An enjoyable experience, but be prepared for a bit of sticker shock. Menu is published online at their website.

Great prime rib and good service. Definitely pricey, though...and I would probably opt for an earlier dinner as it gets crowed and more than a bit noisy well into the dinner hour.

Mabe we caught it on a bad night, but the food was really mediocre. The meat was worst of all, tough and flavorless, and I think my basis of comparison is fair. I been fortunate to have gone to many fine steakhouses around the country - this isn't even close to any of them. Frankly, I think you could find a better steak dinner within 30 minutes drive for half the price, even Cattleman's put this to shame.. The night we went the staff and fairly cold, and we felt unwelcome. Its somewhat ironic and we discussed it at the table; that we and our friends can afford coming to a place like this regularly and we are willing to pay a remium for a really great meal. However, the atitude of the place seemed to be; you won't be back...so who cares. Well, I guess they're right. How they stay in business is ...magic.

Ok...having read the reviews I've seen, I'm some where in the middle. Price is obscene --unless the chop I had was marinated in Jager. Great bar. Pretty people. Servers are good. It's only average for the price. Pretentious comes to mind.

I took my girlfriend here and had made some special arrangements several weeks in advance that the staff not only remembered but pulled-off beautifully. Even though it was a tad on the expensive side (for us) it was well-worth it and I'd go back in an instant.

The food is excellent, In my opinion this is the best in the area, second to none.

I have to speak up here regarding the other reviews...many claim the restaurant is pricey. True but not too out of line. My pick for the best steakhouse anywhere in the bay area is Alexanders in Cupertino and it is more expensive than Haps by far. The food overall at Haps is very good and the service is not stellar but it is fine for a quick outing close to home. If you can make it over to Alexanders plan on spending a lot of money but the meals (been there three times) have always been tops. The next best steakhouse would be Spencer's for Steaks maybe due to the Duckhorn and Caymas wines though..good luck!
