The pho is wonderful...very full flavored broth, real comfort food. Really delicious! Staff is great, very friendly. The place is very clean, attractive and service is efficient. Very good food and friendly atmosphere.
Nguyen Vu is quite simply the comfort food you're seeking, no matter what your cultural background.
If you're looking for a hot bowl of soup, you'll pretty much find Pho, porridge, and other varieties that'll keep you coming back for more. Don't forget to order the fresh spring rolls to complement your meal, as you'll love the dipping sauce.
If a plate of veggies and/or meat on rice is more your style, you'll find Nguyen Vu's various selections a rare combination of gourmet food and quantity that'll have you eating leftovers for your midnight snack, or tomorrow's lunch. You've got to try their BBQ anything (beef, pork, chicken)...trust me.
Their owner's name is Ken. Introduce yourself and you'll find he'll personally welcome you back on every subsequent visit. He's a great guy that is liked by every frequent customer I've spoken with.
If you're new to the area, or new to Vietnamese pho soup, you'll find this restaurant to have the best tasting broth in town! I regard myself as a pho afficionado, and I have not tasted comparably tasting broth anywhere else in the East or South Bay.
There are comparable restaurants in San Francisco's Clement Street area, but who wants to drive that far these days!?
Nguyen Vu...you won't be disappointed!
I have been going to this place for over 10 years now and have never been disappointed. I've sent a lot of people to this place and now this is also one of their favorites. You have to try to place. Warning: You'll keep coming back and will never get tired of it.
I have been frequenting Nguyen's (used to be Nguyen Vu) for about 10 years now, and have never been disappointed.
The restaurant is family-run and the chef is a graduate from the California Culinary Academy.
The menu is diverse, spanning between Vietnamese food through curries and is always improving.
The service is the best I've experienced in the bay area; the owner often stops by to meet and greet customers. He knows the regulars by name.
The food is of great quality, and personally, is the only thing I want when I'm not feeling well. There's something for everyone; vegetarian, meat eaters, low-carb, and folks who appreciate authentic Vietnamese food.
The prices are very reasonable.
Nguyen's is the best, without exception, in the bay area.
