First of all this isn't JUST a restaurant! It's also got a bar ajoint. This bar has 2 pool tables, a juke box with great latin music and the drinks are deliciouso! I usually go in and ask for a booth (my favorite). And of course, there is a bit of a wait, long enough for me to order a drink from the bar. The bartenders even have their own specialties if you ask, hint, hint. In the restuarant and in the bar, the employees are darlings! They are very friendly and helpful. You can tell that they work so hard seeing how most of the time during the rush hours they are zipping back and forth. The menu has so many things to choose from. I love the popcorn shimp. Any of the entrees are delicious and huge. There are half orders to choose from, too. All of the soups I recommend as they are so tasty! I recommend the caldo de 7 mares (soup of the 7 seas). Which contains 7 different kinds of seafood, with a little spice. Their special that they have is fried fish, haven't tried it but hear it's wonderful. 5 stars all the way!
We went for a group lunch and I have to say from the minute I walked in, I knew I was in for a disappointment. There was a funky odor in the restaurant, something sour and suspicious. Our table had flies buzzing in the corner window that harassed us during the meal. The food was gloppy and not fresh tasting. My taco salad was dull and lifeless, the meat too soggy and the veggies plain and limp. I would not recommend this place and I hope no one ever asks me to return!
There are only a selected few dishes I order from here (Pescado Frito, Caldo 7 Mares, Camarones al mojo de ajo & a la diabla), however they are to DIE for. Prices are reasonable. This place gets PACKED on the weekends though. The good thing? You can call an order for pick up and take it home with you.
