My daughter and I have enjoyed Meiko Sushi for many years. Weekly we would have our mother/daughter dinner and always picked this resturant. We love sitting in the private booths and the bar area as well, it s fun and delicious food. We have never had a bad experience there. Love them!
Our family has been going to Meiko's over 5 years now, we've never had a bad experience. The food is always GREAT. Even our teenage kids want to go there on there birthdays every year. It has become a tradition. I won't go any where else for sushi.
I moved to the area in September 2008 and my girlfriends parents took me here for my first real Sushi experience. Before this I had eaten 1 California roll which is cooked. I can tell you that since eating here I have tried a few other spots only to be vastly disappointed. This is by far one of the best places to get great sushi. As for food poisoning, highly unlikely that it would come from here. The food cleanliness standards are higher for sushi than any other food establishment because its raw meat. Also the simple rule of thumb is, if it smells like fish its probably no good. Fresh meat should not smell. Anyway Two thumbs up and Five Stars Go out to Meiko.
Our family really likes Meiko. The sushi is good, always fresh and they have a varied menu of different rolls. The servers are really nice and since we go a lot, they greet us quite warmly when we arrive. If the ambiance were better, I wouldn't hesitate to give this place 5 stars, but it can be somewhat noisy and they tend to keep the place a little cold for my liking.
One of the better ones in the area: Great deal on their lunch special. All the food is overall good except for the lemonade which is from probably the worst mix possible but what Japanese restaurant is known for fresh lemonade? Inside is a little old and dirty but the service is good, food is consistently good with no surprises. No real home runs either though. Would be nice to upgrade the entry way to the restaurant.
Update - went here for dinner. Do not do it. The food quality seems to have gone downhill. The salmon teriyaki was good but the nigiri was small and the rolls (Caterpillar) was awful. Ditto with the CA rolls. Downgrading to three stars.
