Doug's Place, Castro Valley

Doug's food is average and overpriced. One Sunday when my husband and I went to Doug's for lunch, we sent his fries back because they were undercooked. When the fries were done and sitting on the counter waiting to be picked up by our waitress, I noticed one of the grimy waiters go over and grab a handful of fries out of my husbands plate, and he shoved them into his mouth! Not only did he do this once, but he did this twice! I sat in shock and immediately told my husband what I had seen. When the waitress grabbed the plate and made her way over to us, that creepy waiter followed her over to our table. When she sat the plate down, my husband confronted the waiter about reaching into his plate, and we were shocked that the waiter was not going to say anything to us about what he had done. It turned out that the waiter thought that the plate of fries was his co-workers lunch, but even that is disrespectful! We told the owner's granddaughter what had happened, and she laughed. In fact, our waitress laughed it off too! WTF? Are we in the twilight zone? We were not offered any type of compensation, and no apology. Due to the lack of concern by the restaurant, we vowed never to return.
