Carmen & Family BBQ deserves no stars, there portions are so small for there high price. I ordered a three way and it look like I got only one rib cut into like 4 pieces, not much links and they slice the beef into very small pieces so that it looks like they given you something. There potato salad is the worst I have ever eaten. What's with only one side and bread on a three way at least Everett and Jones gives you two side and bread and the price is lower. I only went there because Everett and Jones were closed that day. I will never give them any of my money again.
I use to live in Hayward, CA many years ago (21 yrs to be exact). It's nice to see that Carmen's BBQ is still around. This is absolutely the best BBQ any where in the world! Just sent my stepson, who is visiting CA for a week, to eat here.Watch the 4-5 star hot BBQ sauce, it will nip you in the backside!Hugs Carmen & Family! Thanks for keeping the BBQ pure, old school, traditional and offering a choice of heat! As far as sides go, I haven't been to Carmen's in a very long time. 21 years ago, I got corn bread and BBQ bake beans if memory serves me right. I don't remember potato salad, will have to ask my stepson when he gets back. Doesn't really matter, I didn't go there for the side dishes! Oh and did I say, 21 years later and I still crave Carmen's BBQ?? OMG!!!!! Carmen, please consider opening a location here in Washington State!!
I've had there bbq and its not all that, was just there a week ago and i had the chicken, ribs, links. and the links didnt taste very good and the chicken was dry, the ribs where alright. and its overpriced. i would recommend bbq your self unless you dont know how. then go to carmens bbq.
BBQ tastes pretty good, and I like their choice of sauces. Side dishes aren't so good. Everything is WAY overpriced, and there is NO ambiance whatsoever. This is basically like a deli, not a restaurant. I didn't get a good vibe.
Happened to see the place while passing one day. Since I grew in in the South, love great bbq anywhere I can find it since Doug's closed out here.
bbq is good sauce a little watery but the sides leave alot to be desired. Worst potato salad I've had in long time.
i have eaten at many BBQ places around the area and this is by far the best so far. delicous ribs, chicken, beef links, and brisket. it may cost quite a bit but well worth it to have it once in awhile. i drive 12 miles to eat here for lunch.
