I had a horrible experience today 05/03/2013. I m a strict vegetarian and ordered Vegetarian dish. After waiting for 20 minutes we got the dish , while checking the food I found minced meat in lentil soup , I was surprised and pointed to the waiter , he called the owner of the restaurant , he came and and started checking the the lentil soup and started saying there s no meat , my wife verified that its meat as she is non-vegetarian . He keep arguing ,taking the piece of meat from soup and meshing it and saying its not meat but lentil . I requested him that I m religious vegetarian and can t consume the food and asked him to bring the cheque as I was not interested in eating the food , he said fine and don t need these kind of customers , I requested him to behave and not make a scene in its own restaurant, I have been very regular visitor to this place and was shocked with his behavior and will recommend folks not to pay visit to this place , its pathetic
Well, Next time I will look to see what they give me before leaving the place. I asked for two grounded beef kabob and I got ground Chicken kabob instead and I asked for the white rice and they gave me brown rice. Too expensive for the food they give you. While standing to get my food noticed people struggling to get attention from the only waiter in this place. Won't repeat.
This restaurant probably does not require another review. All I can say is what people are saying is true. I am not sure why anyone has had bad service. The owner is there all the time and I have not been there once when he did not come by personally and wish us well and inquire about our well being. They do allow you to eat in peace without constantly grabbing dishes the way they do in other restaurants. One time they found out it was my birthday and I was given a special dessert and wishes from the staff. Outside the restaurant is just a window in a small shopping strip, inside it is covered head to toe in luxurious curtains, photos, and hanging rugs. The menu is authentic, and moderately addictive. We drive from the East Bay to Fremont almost once a month. Don't put it off go there - make sure you check times since they sometimes take an afternoon break.
Yummy! Wear something stretchy because you will not be able to stop eating. I don't usually eat meat, but the meat kebabs are so wonderfully seasoned and textured that I have fantasies about them. Each side dish is a savory taste adventure. There are many little dumplings with different, interesting, fillings. It's one of those places where you get confused about what to eat next because it's all so good. And it's not expensive. I life in SF, and it's worth the trip to Fremont, which is saying something.
Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in the bay area! I have been there countless times and have enjoyed the food every single time. Everyone I take there also love the food! You have to try the lamb dishes, the beef ravioli, and the rose flavored ice cream! If you can, request to sit in the pillowed area, that'll give you a different experience. Relax and enjoy the food!
This place is so cute and the food was awesome.
Their food is always good. Every time I go there, it's just perfect. Their Qabuli palau is amazing and an Afghan specialty. The chicken kabab is tasty too, really juicy and boneless. All in all, great food and reasonably priced.
Definitly a good place to go, atmosphere and great food. Nice staff.
I have never had Afghan food before, so I didn't know what to expect. The Bolani and Aushak Appetizers are excellent, I am craving some as we speak. The chicken kabob was one of the best kabob dishes I've ever had. My girlfriend had the pumpkin, which she said was really good. and the Jala ice cream was very good as well.
This place is decorated very nicely, has artifacts everywhere and canopy type settings, you can sit on the floor and lounge. Very cool place!!!
