Elephant Bar Restaurant, Fremont

Usual food. Nothing exciting. Greasy and unhealthy food but nice atmosphere. Not for teh adventurous type.

We looooove ths restraunt...the Jambalya is to die for....everything on the menu is fantastic...as the whole town will attest too....since we can't ever go there without it being totally crowded...all of my Grandchildren ask first thing when they come to visit if they can please go to the Elephant Bar...they are just soooo grown up when we eat in the bar and they get their Sirley Temple....I think we've spoiled them....I've never met a dish or a drink I didn't like and that includes the appitizers...great variety of foods!!!!! Oh yeah...the service is always good and they seem to remember my husband and I with a smile everytime we show up...nice to be remembered and treated nicely too!!! This is my favorite restraunt in the whole city of Fremont!!!!

I have been to The Elephant Bar in different locations, and the service and the food is always excellent. if it seems as though it trys to be hip - its only because that it the crowd it attracts at the bar. Compare the price of food to someplace like chilis or Applebees, and the price is about the same, but the food is sooooooooooo much better, including the various items to choose from. You can never go wrong by going here.

Very fine dining. But get there early -- the later you arrive the longer you'll wait to be seated despite the many tables. Unusual menu is a sort of hybrid of thai, indian, pacific islands, somewhat caribbean, and just plain journeyman food. I prefer fish and have had great mahi-mahi, salmon, and snapper there. Sometimes unexpected flavors in their sauses, but always a delightful new experience with each. I take friends there as a treat. Every one of them wants to go back. The decor is a little out of the ordinary but enjoyable in keeping with the animals theme. And.... they give 20% off to senior citizens -- one of the best discounts ever! Great casual dining location I go there about once a month. I don't drink but they have a bar for those who do embibe. High noise level because every one is happy and laughing. Good service from a young staff of enthusiastic waitpersons, all of whom are friendly. I have to rate it one of the best in town. But don't go there late if you want to be immediately seated -- it's much too popular a place for immediate 'sit/order/eat' customers. It's a place to relax and enjoy your meal.

Last time I went there, I noticed all the waiters looked like they were from baywatch. Could have been the night. The food is so so but the drinks are great! They have some good happy hours specials. Some appetizers are only $3 before 6:30. Too bad not all of their appetizers are half off.

Okay, so my sig other and I went here for my birthday. I had been wanting to go here for the longest and we finally did that night. It was an hour wait and after that, we were finally escorted in with the chirping of the beeper they gave us. The ambiance was very nice, well decorated. I thought I was in for the time of my life. The salads came first and the lettuce was wilted and there wasn't enough dressing to feed the nucleus of my cells. When our main entree was served, my steak was very small and Robert's chicken wing sauce he siad left much to be desired. On a good note, my pina colada was the bomb! Anyway, there are plenty other restaurants that I wished we would have went to. Our bill was about $40.00 and it certainly wasn't worth it.
