Cafe Sarafornia, Calistoga

Stoped and had breakfast and it was terrible, my friend ordered ham & eggs (the slice of ham was so small not even the size for a child) I ordered the chicken and apple sausage and they were cold....also the bread was not buttered....NEVER AGAIN....

We stopped in for lunch on a Monday afternoon. The food was good and the waitress seemed perfectly friendly. I had a Ruben sandwich and my wife had the grilled chicken wrap. Both were very good. We enjoyed it very much. I would not put too much credibility in a review of Chinese chicken salad! Most negative reviews about anything are gross exaggerations by pretentious or rude a-holes!

Driving through Calistoga on a mini holiday. Simple good food at a great price. Waitress was a little grumpy. Atmosphere was pleasant. Overall a good experience, would stop there again.

Ate there for lunch because it was full of people and seemed reasonably priced. They serve breakfast all day so I had scrambled eggs with corn beef hash and it was good, not great. But the whole reason for writing this review is because the chinese chicken salad my girlfriend had was horrible (yes, her mistake for ordering it) but that dish was total garbage and should be removed from the menu immediately. And my guess is that anything on the menu that is not breakfast or sandwich oriented should also be removed. I ended up sampling her dish because I wanted to taste what bad food tastes like. The chicken definitely was either cooked way in advance and then frozen or they buy frozen breast patties and just reheat. The dressing for the salad was just as bad and what they listed as fried noodles on the menu was some deep fried variation of something that should not be called a noodle. Waitress was forgetful. There are not a lot of choices but I would definitely first try all the other places before going back to this one. I would stick to breakfast if you do plan to go inside.
