Used to be good in 2008, has gone downhill bigtime...worst japanese food in danville, teriaki chicken was cold, cut in large chunks with so much chicken fat that it made me sick. Also, the restaurant is filthy, so don't look too closely at the floors, restroom, etc., otherwise you'll wonder how the health department allows them to operate. Not sure if the original owner sold out, but Kane was recently endited for tax fraud and ripping off their employees. Definately a place to avoid, I'll never go back!
This place has the BEST sushi. Very noisy though. Wouldnt be a romantic date place. They have a TON of different rolls, they even have random ones all over the walls, so theres different rolls to try everytime you go and sit in a different section. The fish was so fresh. It was great!
Kane has won some local best sushi awards but is just short of five stars. Too bad there is not a 4.5 star rating! Reason it falls short is the physical restaurant itself which is older and just not that comfortable. Everything else is very good. Sen Dai, who consistantly has the best sushi in the bay area (Yelp readers feel this way too) could learn a thing or two from Kane's chicken teriyaki sauce which is great.
My fiance and I go here all the time and we absolutely love this place. It can get busy and crowded on a Friday or Saturday night..but that's a good sign.
Also they have customers' sushi creations all over which is kind of fun to look at. Our favorites are the Butterfly Rolls and Sue's Crunchy Rolls. Oh so good!
