Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery
The Calistoga Inn is located at the northern tip of the Napa Valley and has an eighteen room European-style hotel, full-service restaurant with two bars, vintage dining room with outdoor patio & beer garden. The Inn is a local favorite and offers live jazz nightly on the patio (seasonal only) & features dancing in the pub on weekends. The Calistoga Inn is also home to the Napa Valley Brewing Company, which was one of California's first micro-breweries. It's a one-stop-shop for good food, drinks, entertainment & fun. Reservations are recommended. Visit www.calistogainn.com for more info.
We stayed Valentines weekend. Friday night was HIP HOP/RAP DJ until 1:00am. This was followed by the crowd spilling into the street hootin' & hollarin' for another hour. That was followed by a typical drunken heated argument. That, of course, was followed by a fist fight in the street, then a bottle fight, and about 20-minutes of some drunk intermittently honking a car horn. All that was followed by the police showing up. Then, the staff began their LOUD clean up process at about 2:30am. For some reason, this seemed to involve a lot of yelling. Good thing it was a cheap room, for 2-hours sleep does not a vacation make. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN, NOR WILL I RECOMMEND IT AGAIN.
1. Great place to relax in the afternoon in their back patio area with a beer from their brewery.
2. The food is over-priced and very average. I could cook better on my own grill anytime. $30 Ribeye had no flavor, $25 Pork Porterhouse was undercooked, Calamari appetizer was rubber.
3. The service was slow and disorganized.
4. This is the 2nd time eating here and results were the same.
Ok, we decided to stay one more night in the Napa area after staying at a B&B for two nights and thought we would give it a chance. Wow! I felt like I was staying in an old brothel. No bathroom in the room, no a/c and it was 100+ degrees. The bar was great and we had a ton of fun, but i felt like i had to scrub myself after the stay. I have to tell you I am a pretty good traveler, I dont need too much but wow, this place was worse than a motel 6 in a bad area. Was very disappointed by the hype of some of the Napa area hotels.
The food & ales were superb. The atmosphere is great! By all means have Addai as your server! He's charming, polite, very efficient, & a great sense of humor. KUDOS for him & the establishment !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A great place for fun & GOOD food.
The restaurant and bar are certainly a popular spot in Calistoga. But don't be fooled by the Inn's hotel and B&B listings on the Internet. The accommodations are nothing more than rooms above the bar. They're noisy, sparse and during our stay on 10/1/06 another patron tried to break into our room while two others were sent to the hospital with injuries sustained at the Inn. Don't count on a good night's sleep here!!
The Calistoga Inn has it all: fine dining out on the patio right on the Calistoga River, a great wine list, fabulous beer made right on the premises, live music many nights a week, and great food! There are even some quaint rooms in the upstairs. The Inn is definitely worth a visit!
If you're looking to relax, this is not the place to go!

When looking for a Bed and Breakfast, we were recommended this place as being quaint and quiet. It was a totally different story when we arrived. There is a restaurant and bar underneath our room and we were told that it stays relatively quiet and that the bar closes at midnight. What actually happened was the bar stayed open way past midnight and the people next to us were up partying until 4:00 a.m. so we didn't get any sleep! When we approached the person at the front desk about this matter, they just told us that they have a disclaimer about noise. PLEASE! I think a hotel should have respect for all guests and not advertise that it's a quaint place when it really is a glorified dormitory. The bathrooms were not clean and you do have to share with everyone. I generally don't mind this but it could have been cleaner. This was one of the worst experiences we've have in our travels and won't be back again. However, if you're young and like to stay up all night, this is the place to be!
I love the Calistoga Inn! It is a small Inn over a top-quality restaurant and bar, with a brewery attached. The only downside would be the noise from the kitchen if you are in one of the rooms directly over it. The bathrooms are shared, but the rooms are spotless - with no phones, no televisions, and extremely comfortable beds and a fantastic ambience. The location is absolutely perfect - right in the heart of Calistoga. I have stayed here three times, and it is the perfect spot for basing a wine-tasting trip. The restaurant is amazing and the service is great. The continental breakfast of fruit and freshly baked breads is really very, very good. This is not a luxury hotel, but a charming an intimate place to stay where you feel like family and enjoy very comfortable rooms.
