Faz Danville, Danville

My daughter came up from LA to celebrate my birthday and Mother's Day. I had always wanted to try Faz's. We made reservations for an outside table (even though it was a little cool and windy out). for 7:45 pm. It was the night before Mother's Day. The place was jammed when we arrived and the receptionist said she was waiting for a table with a heat lamp to clear out. One hour and 15 mins later I checked out the outside and there were only 2 heat lamps working and the tables near them were occupied. Just as I went up to her to say we would eat inside she was telling someone else who had just come in that they could be seated right away inside. I glared at her and we were seated. During our whole wait she never came up and offered anything else, or told us how much longer unless we asked. We ordered a bottle of wine and we waited 1/2 hour for wine glasses (as they had to open a box). People who were seated 15 or more mins after us received their meals before us. Our meal arrived about 45 mins. after being seated. I ordered duck with a sauce and I didn't taste much sauce; my husband had swordfish with a sauce and he reported his was very dry. What a waste of time, $ and celebration! On my actual birthday later that week, we ate at home...much quieter, peaceful, and better food!
