Checkers Drive-In Restaurant, Calistoga

We dined at Checkers over the holiday weekend and totally enjoyed the experience. The foods were delicious and the service was great. We thoroughly enjoyed warm breads, steamed mussels, garlic shrimps and artichoke dip for appetizers, and the entrees, too. Before our trip, I did a quick search on the web for good restaurants in Calistoga, but did not see Checkers on the list. After dining here, however, we all agreed that this is a hidden gem on Lincoln Avenue. If you are looking for a place that provide wonderful foods, friendly services and reasonable price, Checkers is definitively the right choice.

I used to frequent Checkers in the late 1990s during my college days in the Napa Valley. Boy has it changed! The menu has been upgraded, seating is semi formal, and the resturant was empty! My husband had the polenta dish - which was excellent, and I had the broccoli rigatoni -left a little to be desired for me. Overall, I'd say my experience was above average - but not excellent. It did not set Checkers above other dining experiences I've had.
