Happy Cafe Restaurant, San Mateo

The food here is great. Those who think this food is bad does not understand Chinese food. This is Shanghai style. Not all Chinese food is the same. If you like inexpensive Shanghai food, you'll like this place. But service is not great. So don't expect to be catered.

That is by far the WORST chinese food. The chow mein is thin spagetti noodle with jalepanos and sm 3 pcs of chicken (if your lucky). The egg rolls have nothing inside no veggies no meat which they are supposed to. The wonton soup is noodle and broth not even all the meat could make one wonton..I was so mad I threw it out. I wasted $14...NO flavor at all. I don't know who gave it 5 stars but they do not know what good chinese food is. WING FAT in San Mateo 3rd Ave has REAL chinese food...Tastes great and you get alot and you can't beat the prices.

great place to eat! love the chicken and the spring rolls . however the only down side is the size of the place, long lines, and it doesnt open at night
