Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers
We are proud to serve Niman Ranch all-natural ground chuck. Barney's and Niman Ranch understand that the secret to great beef is the combination of breed, feed, care and age. It's the special attention to these details that make a great hamburger.
Its OK. The meat is kinda tasteless. Here are my top places. Bill's on Clement, Joe's Cable Car deep in the Mission, Flipper's in Hayes Valley, Belly Burger is pretty good on Geary, Pearl's Deluxe Burgers on Nob Hill. I really like Joes, not their prices, a regular meal with fries and soda can cost 20 bucks, their meat quality is the best, the location for most of SF is kinda out there in the Deep Mission.
One of the better burger joints in the Bay area. I always order their mushroom burger. Not quite up to par with some of the burger joints in Dallas, but for Marina district, it's the best. Plus it's only few blocks from
This place rivals polker's gourmet burgers for one of the best burger joints in the city. I love the fact that they have an extensive menu with unique and interesting burger options. The garlic fries are also delicious and one large serving is enough for three people. The baja and alpine burgers where both delicious and filling. Either way, I believe all the burgers were appetizing and you can't go wrong with any of the selections.
I really like Barney's, which provides a solid quality burger with great selection... but I have to concur with the review below. The Grubstake (on Pine by Van Ness) has an incredible burger - just like home made but with the finest ingredients. Their specials can be superb as well, and they are open later than most to accommodate the post-movie and party crowd. The customers are colorful and comprised largely of regulars - always a good sign.
Far and away the best burger in terms of quantity, quality and value. The cut of meat used is lean and flavorful, the amount of side items (bacon, sprouts, cheese, etc) is legendary, the shakes are excellent and fries great. The one pound burger is a piece of art. The bad news is the soup is awful, and the vegetarian items are pretty poor. The salads are pretty good, all are a good value.
Service is good and only suffers due to the normally large crowds.
The ambiance could stand improving, but afterall, its only a burger joint.
