It doesn't get more local than Calzone's, in the heart of North Beach. Whether you're sitting outside at the heated cafe tables or inside in one of the comfy booths, this sparkling bistro with a decidedly Cal-Euro atmosphere is the perfect place for watching eclectic locals mix with visitors drawn by North Beach's reputation as the hip place to see and be seen. The restaurant has been owned and operated by the same North Beach native since 1986 and is open 365 days a year, serving food continuously from 11:30 am until 1:00 am.

Good location, good service. The lasagna and sausage pizza are very good. Not overly spiced but good. The get their bread from Acme at the Ferry biulding so that is another plus. We sat outside but the inside of this facility is very pretty. The persons were average would be my only complaint.

We stopped at Calzone's for lunch on Saturday afternoon. We were seated promptly and the ambiance was very nice--sidewalk cafe on a spring day. However, my husband's calzone was cold in the middle. He sent it back but it was only barely warm then and nearly blackened on the outside. My pizza was so-so but I have had much better for much much less at Sbarro's at the mall. Service was so-so. Our drinks went unrefilled. A disappointment.

A jem of a find

Having called in for an impromptu lunch we couldn't wait to go back for a more relaxed dinner. The food we were served was excellent, coupled with the service and attentiveness of the staff making the Calzone as good as anywhere we have been. The ambience of the restaurant and the choice of wines helped to make the overall experience delightful. Will definately return if ever in San Francisco again, would not hesitate to recommend the Calzone to friends.

Great pizza choices. Everything comes in long oval plates and is very good. Atmosphere is younger and they have about 4-5 different flavored Mojitos. Lots of outdoor seating with heaters as well.

When I went there it was super busy but I was seated with food in front of me in under 10 mins! The food was Fabulous and the service impeccable. If you go, you have to try the Tiramisu...!!! There just aren't words to describe how phenomenal it is!
