Lou' Pier 47, San Francisco

This place has been here for a long time. I was here in 84 and they were playing Blues then also. Good for music, drinks, can get some food, Wharf atmosphere.

Very average place. Drinks were OK. The place had a bit of a smell. Not a good one either.

The food is quite good, average wait time. The service, well thats where the problem lies. If they did not add a 16 % grayuity, I believe service would be better, but why bother, they get tipped anyway, good or bad. I personally tip 20-25%, but I did not leave any extra. We did not go upstairs except to restroom, but the jazz and blues up there sounds great. Would I go again? Yes, its a San Francisco classic. Not tourist trappy either, a good mix of locals and tourist's. Linda San Lorenzo, Ca.

What a dump! Nobody in the place and the kitchen closed at 7:30. The place looked and smelled filthy. At least we got our $3 cover charge back.
