Great Sushi! It is a fun place overall. A bit small, but it makes the place cozy. I live in the City so I will definitely go back again.

Excellent sushi and atmosphere!

Wonderful sushi - nigiri and sashimi. Interesting rolls. Nice atmosphere. Fun, funky. Different part of town, but cool discovery. We will go back.

very good sushi
By ,
this place is very cute and chic inside. however, it's very small. we lucked out and got seated at the sushi bar. the waitress who helped us was very slow and spacey. she was too busy socializing with some of the clientele that she forgot to bring us our tea and rice. that was kind of annoying. however, the sushi chefs more than made up for it. they are excellent and very attentive! the raw fish is very fresh and delicious. make sure that you're into raw fish and seafood as there are only a couple of cooked dishes on the menu.

Cozy sushi joint
By ,
I love the decor in this little sushi joint. Sometimes they fit DJs, sometimes, there are just a bunch of people waiting around. When it is a bit warmer they seat outside with heating lamps. The wait is usually minimal. If there is a wait have some beer and hot sake to set the mood. Enjoy the tiling on the walls, the bamboo and the red background. The chefs have changed a bit, though the menu is the same and they don't serve spicy tuna handrolls in martini glasses anymore. The warm seafood salads are alway delicious. The plates are all really good. Spicy chicken karaage (ask for xtra spice) Hamachi Kama, and baked mussels are winners.

Forget about Blowfish...

or Sushi Groove, or Tokyo-A-Go-Go...This blace is the best. Still a wee bit on the trendy side (and thus the expendive side), Deep has consistently served the freshest and most interesting/innovative/whatever sushi in San Francisco. Very small so get here early or prepare to wait. The food and the service are worth the wait, but the prices are a bit high compared to places like Godzilla (great sushi and a dive - in a good way).

Quality sushi
By ,
Excellent varied sushi menu with great presentation. We ordered kani croquettes, dragon rolls, and cut sashimi. Eclectic decor and decent service. Though small - when they get busy, the service can be a bit slow.

Always excellent quality
By ,
This place does not let you down. Quality of fish and presentation has been top notch, at still reasonable (not inexpensive) prices. The place is somewhat of a scene, usually crowded with dance music playing in the background. but if this does not bother you in enjoying your sushi, you are in for a real treat.

One of the best in SF
By ,
I've eaten at Deep about 4 or 5 times, and each time is excellent. Their rolls are not what you'll find in other places -- Marilon Manson and Margarita are two that stand out -- and their nigiri is fresh and delicious. Portions are somewhat small but still worth it. Call ahead to get a table, since waiting in line is always best avoided!
