my review is kind of mixed: Food was really good in French standard, but the atmosphere i rather loud and not so intimate, in French standards. Our waiter was not so attentive nor friendly but other people we dealt with that night definitely were. Apart from that the restaurant serves food family style which is interesting and one must remember that parking is rather difficult to find in the area. So I would call it a ok/good French fusion place

I love this place! I went there for my birthday dinner. the duck liver was delicious! I loved everything I ordered there. Scallops, spaghetti, grilled squid. The beef was a little chewy though. dessert was also really good. creme brulee wasn't too sweet so it was perfect for me. the chocolate cake good too. Since it was on the dry side, it paired perfectly with the vanilla gelato.

I was looking for a good French restaurant for my husband's Birthday and I came across Isa. The food was fabulous and with 7 people we were able to try most of the dishes. Our wait staff was extremely friendly and helped make the evening really enjoyable. The covered heated patio created a charming atmosphere. I can't wait to go back.

Isa's is one of my favorite restaurants, my first visit was in 2006. The converted back patio is charming; strewn with white lights and white tablecloth, covered with a tent and dotted with space heaters. The place is optimal for intimate conversation and you’ll feel like you’re dining during a warm summer night instead of a frigid SF evening. It's a great scene with a mix of locals and loyal out-of-towners. The laurel goat cheese is a must have. Get there early and spend some time at the bar to enjoy a drink before the meal. It's a good chance to chat with the wait staff and make the dining experience that much more enjoyable. Also ask for a table near the center of the back patio in case a light wind hits the tent.

Good food, nice waitstaff...worth a visit
By ,
The small plates, family style serving enables you to try lots of different dishes, all of which are excellent. In particular, I'd highly recommend the truffled risotto. Beyond the food, our waitress was friendly and courteous, even when we were the last people in the restaurant and you could tell that her colleagues wanted us to leave. Overall, definitely worth a visit.

Wonderful Experience

Great food and service that was only apparent when you needed to ask a question. We were 30 minutes late for our reservation and only had to wait 5 minutes to be seated. Highly recommend it for a group.
