This tiny storefront that attracts foodies from all over the city makes the most of its small space with lace curtains, crisp white table linens, and slightly formal Edwardian decor. The warm ambiance is a soothing backdrop for the seasonal menu that specializes in the rich risottos and cream sauces of Northern Italy with such tempting delights as Seafood Canelloni, Tortellini al Panna and Grilled Veal on a bed of Saffron Risotto. The service, personable and professional, is as exquisite as the food. Vintages from Italy and California star on the wine list.
Stopped in the other night and all I can say in uninspired, bland Italian. I realize it is a mom and pop shop and want to say good things (which the waiter was friendly and quite good at being attentive without lingering over you) but really - the pasta tasted store bought and the sauce was just very flavorless. Not to mention - the pricing was just far too high for what was being served. I grew up in San Francisco eating Italian and was hoping for the best with this place as it is in my neighborhood, but in general it just came up like something I could have made with prepackaged pasta and sauce from the store.
This place is just EXQUISITE. The food is the best Italian food one could ever have anywhere!
You will not be disappointed and you will become a regular. It's hard not to...(smile) -
The food was beyond expectation... there wasn't one dish i didn't like. The atmosphere was relaxing with a touch of elegance and european flair. This is a great place to go for a romantic dinner, or with a group of friends. The only thing about this that I would change about the place is the location. I only wish it was closer to downtown.
Excellent food ,and the service was excellent too. We definitely come back there again soon we love the food.
If you plan to have a romantic dinner I'll choose this place very good ,and THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD I have EVER had.
Seriously. I'm Italian, I've been to Italy 6 or 7 times, and I order gnocchi almost every time I see it on a menu. And this place has the BEST gnocchi I've ever had. They have three kinds on the menu, and I've had them all. Each one is better than the next. The potato with meat sauce is totally succulent, the spinach with creamy tomato sauce is flavorful, and the sweet potato with walnut cream sauce is delicate and not too sweet. I love this place, and their prices are very reasonable.
