Will never eat here again
Like some of the other reviewers, I have eaten lunch, and or dinner here for over 20 years, and it has been my favorite place, until now. I called to ask if they would be open on New Years Eve, and thought I would catch an early movie at the Empire, and then eat dinner there. Well I am learning to walk again, I fell and ruptured the quadricep tendons in both legs, and use a walker although sometimes I can use a cane. When I called they never said they took reservations, and I have never known them to in the past. However when I arrived about 7 pm,many tables had reserved signs on them, (the place was not crowded), the only seat offered to me was a middle table between 2 other tables with 2 diners each. I asked how I was supposed to sit there, having a walker and was told they did not know. I was finally offered a table near the front on the end which was the ideal place, however this was not offered initially, until I said I could not sit at the middle table with the other diners, which would have been inconvenient, and uncomfortable for them. The host did not seem to think anything of the fact I just walked out, and did not seem to care. For a restaurant which used to be packed, people standing in line, and now is so sparse I wondered it they were closed. I will never eat here again, and don't know why they have taken this attitude, with a lot of elderly, and handicapped in the area, this place is on it's way out. Very sad.
