Greens to Go, San Francisco

Really awesome place to get a quick bite (they have a sort of counter in the front where you can get sandwiches and other portable foods I think). Walking around the Marina and Fort Mason area is one of my favorite things to do. It can be a little pricey, but Greens rocks.

For a vegetarian who cares about sustainability and fresh, organic produce, Greens is an inspiration. I prefer to cook than go out, so for Greens to be a constant temptation says a lot. I understand that many can't taste the difference between local farmers' goods and the conventional, but it's about supporting and participating in your local community.

Would you be able to recognize the taste of an organic tomato from the regular ones? Would you rather have ravioli at a restaurant that cook their food with organic ingredients than a neighborhood Italian restaurant? Ocean view vs red brick wall? Can you afford to pay 20 dollars for a spinach salad? If you don�t mind paying high for your meal, then Greens isn�t a bad place. They have nice views, and good service. It�s one of those places, where you can impress your date with your conscious for healthy living and organic ingredients! If you are a practical, down-to earth person with a thin wallet, this may not be the place for you.

Growing up on a farm I learned to love the flavor of food that came right out of the garden. That's what Greens is like! I'd eat there every day if I could! The food is fresh and prepared with care. I don't have any other experience to compare Greens to, they stand alone! This review is relevant to takeout, but also for lunch at Greens! It's best to make reservations if you can. Oh, and if it's a romantic date ask for a table near the window with of view of the marina and Golden Gate!
