I don't know about other Chevy's. But his particular one in Stonestown is fairly nice. It's more cafeteria than restaurant. And your waiters can change by the minute (same with the Olive Garden, next door). It's next to a college (SF State)..
But the food is good. And for a franchise, you actually get a lot for the money. The sizzling platters are nice. You can keep cooking the food (lots of onions). The taco meat, etc, isn't quite as good. But if you stick to their steak and chicken platters, grilled shrimp, samples, it's good. A plate of their grilled shrimp, if you might get a special order, would be really nice.
Overall, you feel the bill should be a little more, every time. It's hectic. It can be noisy. They do that birthday sing for the kids. It can be sweltering in summer. But it's more a lunch or late afternoon cafeteria, with I think very tasty food, and plenty of it, certainly for the price.
