Description

This unprepossessing spot is a smallish oasis of serenity in the Irving Street restaurant corridor specializing in the wonderful noodles of Japan such as soba, udon, gyoza and ramen. The staff is friendly and glad to share their love of noodles with you. Hotei is a good place for vegetarians, and a good place to save money. Reach there on time as street parking can be difficult to find.

Hotei is a great spot for sushi and ramen
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/3/10
Hotei is a great Japanese restaurant in the Inner Sunset. Hotei offers most of the great sushi offered at its sister restaurant, Ebisu, but also has incredible ramen. They food is reasonably priced and service is friendly and attentive.

Want Ebisu but not the long wait? Come here and order Ebisu sushi, and laugh at the people still waiting for their tables across the street, as you devour your unagi! Same owners as Ebisu, so a great way to get the sushi in a much more laid back atmosphere.

The best sushi since our trip to Japan! More than one selection of sakes, as it should be. Very warm and efficient service. Liked it so much, we went back for lunch a couple of days later. Waitress remembered us! Also: mochi stuffed with ice cream!

Good place for noodles and sushi from sister restaurant Ebisu, across the street. Especially cosy on a rainy day.

Eat to your heart's content. This Japanese noodle joint has delectable entree sized soups as well as other eats. A great place on a cold rainy day.
