Yellow Submarine, San Francisco

Three words. Best. Sub. Ever. We were visiting our son & he had talked about how good this sub was. Well - he was right. I've actually dreamed about the Hot Pastrami I had since I've gotten home. No - I really have. If you are ever in San Francisco, forget all the fancy places to eat and go to this place. And the owner was the nicest guy. Wish they could ship their sandwiches.

My wife and I were visiting family in San Francisco and they were talking a lot of hype about this place and that it was better than sandwish restaurants in NY. We decided to go and give it a try. I have to admit, the hype was warranted. The place is old and run down but the food was better than any sandwish restaurant in NYC. I loved the old menue on the wall and the originality of the place. It was very cozy and the staff were very friendly. If I end up in San Fran again, I will definitely go out of my way to eat there.

The meat on the sandwitch was cheated ( used to be more but they gotten greedy )Spices are poor on the steak sandwitch lacks the taste of cheese -tiny meat portions .Fries were yello and saggy by the time i sat down to eat my lunch -trew them away .Owner pushes the soda - drink are way overpriced 20 $ for 2 sandwitches one can of soda and saggy fries .Owner asked a guy in front of me where he got his drink !!! The guy in front of me had an organic drink that he got down the street for 2 dollars ( while he was selling tiny can of saod for way less )2 nice lating guys work there ( i am sure for very little money what the business brings in for the owner ).Awful food - won't be back ! my boyfriend said - it was ok - Nothing to write home about !

Signature taste you can rely on, good selection of classic subs, and open Sundays also. Been goin there since I was in grade school. Great for call in and take out. Steak and Cheese w/ Grilled Onions my favorite, Hot Pastrami, Reubens, good s**t.

I learned about yellow sub a few years ago. I was closer to them and would have 2+ sandwiches a week. Now I go back for these subs about once a month, and its quite a detour, but we'll worth it.

Yellow Submarine is very delicious! The medium size sandwich is more than enough to fill your appetite. I've been here on several occasions and I always leave satisfied. My only complaint is that instead of canned soda, they should serve fountain drinks. If you're gonna eat there, one can of soda is not enough to wash down a sandwich and fries. Otherwise, I surely recommend this place. :)

But sooooooo worth it. Don't forget to have them put a slathering of their homemade hot sauce on the sandwich, they won't do it if you don't ask.

The sandwitches are absolutely incredible - quite possibly the best I've ever eaten. Great for just about any meal (maybe a little ambitious for breakfast). Some of the usual ingredients might seem a little different from a 'subway sandwitch,' but try them with everything and you won't regret it.
