Thanh Long, San Francisco

We dine out as often as possible, always trying new places. But since 1997, Thanh Long has had the best roast crab AND garlic noodles in San Francisco. The crab needs no dipping as it is dripping with garlic butter while in the shell. Who would have thought something as simple as Garlic Noodles could be so....good. After you've stuffed yourself with chicken, noodles, and crab and you can't possibly eat any more dinner, your mouth WILL water for more garlic noodles. The service is polite, friendly, and oh so quick! Parking is tough and you MUST make reservations, but the Valet Service takes care of that. Since 1997, the An family has done everything right.

Great garlic crab, garlic noodles, romantic atmosphere - some of the seating is a little too close, especially if nearby diners have small children. Overall, very good food & service.

When you first drive by you might have to take a double take to notice that it is the restaurant you're looking for but don't be fooled because once you pass on the nine dollar parking service and manage to find a space on your own you will be reassured by what you see inside. The ambiance is great, a little tight with seating and all but the service is a set of friendly staff sure to make you feel comforatable. I of course ordered the infamous crab and garlic noodles, which IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING in flavor preceded by the vietnamese salad, which has great flavor might I ad for the second time. Of course dessert topped the meal off with the best, BEST, fried ice cream, drooling in vanilla sauce, that I have ever had the pleasure of eating, be sure to have the rest of your party order desserts too because in my case I had spoons being jabbed at MY dessert constantly. I could say so much more about the experience but I need to hit the gym!

We make it a tradition now to go every month. The food there is just soooooo good and unforgettable. Reservations are highly recommended. The Garlice noodles are to die for and the Roasted Crab is just delicious.

You wouldn't know it looking from the outside, but this restaurant is a delightful treat. From the OUTSTANDING food to the impeccable service, Thanh Long is a veteran of quality. I highly recommend the Saigon Beef (filet mignon with carmelized onions), Crab, and don't miss the Vietnamese Coffee - I'm hooked for life. Unforgetable, and easily one of my favorite restaurants.

Every appetizer was excellent, we tried them all, the crab was off the ricter scale, the garlic noodles and green beans and garlic are heaven on a plate. You wont be dissappointed, worth every penny.

If you are thinking of visiting The San Francisco area I have one thing to say about this restaurant...Don't die and go to heaven without first trying the garlic roasted crab at Thanh Long. This one restaurant visit would make your vacation.

I can not believe how great the crab was. I am from NY and get great food. There is nothing like their garlic crab here that I know of. Whenever I am in SF I try to get here. But be prepared to wait and if you wear jeans and a tee shirt you will not be underdressed.

I LOVE this place. It's great for special occasions. We get the crab and garlic noodles. Mmmmmmm.
