Thanh Long, San Francisco

I came here with some friends, first time here and the food was different than my usual, it was tasty. The establishment is nice, I totally like the place, I try to get my boyfriend to come.

Okay...whoever rated this place anything below 4 stars is an idiot. This place has the best food in the Bay Area hands down. The Roast Crab, Garlic Noodles, Praws, Calamari, desserts...(list goes on and on) are to die for!!! I've been to a lot of restaurants in the United States and this is definitely in my top 3.

The food was great! The calamari and the crab - - - awesome!!!! The service was excellent. We had 2 beers, 1 crab, 1 calamari appetizer, 1 order of veggies and 1 fried ice cream - $85. Well worth it! To get to the restrooms you will pass the kitchen and it was a little dirty - next time I won't look!

the garlic noodles are way overhyped - who likes noodles that soggy! they should be more al dente. everything else was okay but overrated. i definitely won't be coming back.

Crab and Garlic noodles are must-have, no doubt, but Oh My God, try their Calamari! Their Salt And Pepper Calamari is like the best ever! Their Mango Warm Salad is great, too. We love their Sea Bass, although it isn't really different than how other restaurants prepare it. End your dinner with their House Special Orange or Lemon Sorbet. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in San Francisco!

It does not get better than Thanh Long. This is definetly my favorite resteraunt ever. The best Crab you ever want to eat. I loooovvve Thanh Long I been coming here forever. It's pretty expsentive but well worth it. Broiled Crab and Garlic Noodles to die for, Then you have to get the Fried Banana with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream for Dessert it's a must. I cannot live without this place so I have to come home back to california just to eat here.

Thanh Longs is a good resturant, I was there this past week and the week before. This last week I was a bit disappointed... Like the below reviews, the seating is too close together, when I'd converse with my family we'd have people (our dinning neighbors) listening in. Also, the couple that was next to us had been complaining about their roasted crab, and had sent it back twice. I had ordered the roasted crab and tiger prawns over garlic noodles. I have to admit, the week prior was much better than this time around. Although everything was good, I had to ask the waiter if he'd take my plate back to the kitchen to be warmed. My food had not been hot like the previous times I'd eaten there (It was luke-warm). The garlic butter seemed to just cake up and stick to my plate... not appealing. Also, usually the service is awesome but this time it wasn't at all that great. I feel if I am going to be paying about $90 for crab, prawns and garlic noodles; The service should always be great. Now don't get me wrong, I will be returning to Thanh Longs, despite the various issues I've had (the ones I have mentioned and prior occassions) there... maybe the next time will be better. Everyone has bad days right? I just hope the next time I go my food taste great. I reccomend: Roasted Crab & Colossal Tiger Prawns (Hopefully it's hot)...

This is a local area restaurant in the Sunset, and as a long time resident to San Fran, it was fun to explore. My reservation was not late; in fact I was a bit early and they sat me and my party immediately. The waitress was always on the lookout to help out, very friendly. A separate wine person got my beer and poured it for me. And when I was getting a bit messy with my crab cracking, a waiter got me a bib and tied it! Wow, now that's service. Downside was the glass had a nick on the edge which should have been caught. The prices were steep but what the hell for Christmas. I liked the Bee Gees disco music, but during Xmas? Gosh. Next time some Ventures Christmas music, please. Overall, worth another visit.
