Nola - Palo Alto, Palo Alto

What's great about NOLA: the drinks (Back Bay Margaritas are excellent), the decor (lots of colored lights, mirrors, wrought iron, faux folk art), the layout (lots of cozy little rooms around an open-air atrium) and most of the food (some appetizers are sloppy, but the entrees are quite good). The metal patio tables and chairs on the main floor are uncomfortable and the wrong height for dining (plus it's often cold there) - try to get a wooden table upstairs or in one of the many side rooms. The wait is really long on weekends and the bar is packed (and loud), but that's part of the charm. This is a great place for a group if you go on a weeknight.

Decorated like a scene from Disney's Pirates of the Carribbean, Nola primarily attracts young, hip singles and good friends out for after work drinks. While you wouldn't call it authentic cajun, the food is good and abundant, and the atmosphere is upbeat.

Great place to get drinks and appetizers. The outdoor seating is definitely cool, but the biggest plus is that they DON'T charge a cover. Pretty ridiculous any bar in Palo Alto would charge a cover! What are we? In NY? I give Nolas a big thumbs up for not trying to be something it is not.

i liked the good service with pretty cool people. its a very comfortable atmosphere but very busy

Had the best pork chop ever and the flank steak rocks. A bit loud but very energizing and fun to go with a group for great food at decent prices.

Nola's offers good food, even though it's no match for anything in New Orleans. It's a great place to gather with friends for a fun dinner.

Great spot for meeting friends and having a few cocktails. the food is good too. new orleans style. interesting art-work and a great covered outdoor patio.
