Firenze by Night, San Francisco

Went there last Saturday night. Had the Osso Bucco and my tablemates had gnocchi, and a few pasta dishes. Everything was fabulous. Service was great. I will be back!

This restaurant will remind you of the cooking of your Lucca-born Italian Nonnie, if your were lucky enough to have one! The food is what I would call authentic northern Italian cuisine and it is a non-touristy spot to enjoy a wonderful, carefully prepared dinner in the heart of North Beach. The price is totally fair for the meal you get and the service is great too as well as the full bar.

Sergio you are the best , your staff friendly and your food out of this world. See you again, and again ( wish could visit Sfo. more frequently!)

Despite what I had heard about getting restaurant reservations in San Francisco, Firenze by Night could not have been more gracious. I walked by the establishment at 4 PM, having just arrived in the city form LA, and asked for a table for three at 8 PM. Perhaps it was the face to face encounter but the owner immediately penciled me in. When we arrived there was no waiting. The food was outstanding. All pastas were perfectly done and far more authentically dressed and flavored than my usual LA haunts. Fish and meat dishes were amazingly generous. The servers lacked attitude and really cared about the diners. The noise level was high and the tables close but this led to a mini-friendship with an adjoining party from San Diego. This was by far the best dinner I had in four nights. I will go back every time I return to SF.

From the time we walked in the door until we left we were treated like royalty. The food was exceptional, service impecable, and the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. CONGRADULATIONS to Paolo for his attention to every detail. You really made us feel at home. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Massive Menu, great daily's. Sergio is a great chef, and treats everyone like a close friend. If you don't see it, ask! If they can create it they will. Excellent wine cellar! If your in S.F., don't miss it!!!!!

VERY friendly, there's no doubt about it, and the food is excellent. I went with a group of ten or so and everyone enjoyed the meal, although the two people who had the veal didn't feel so super the next day. I would suggest it and go back regardless (and I was one of the two)- the service really is exceptional; I don't think I have ever seen a wait staff so joyful.

If you blink too quick, you could miss this subtle old school Italian restaurant with the dark blue awning. Excellent service, always fresh, always steaming hot, and delicioso! Although you will be served the famous sliced warm bread with red vinegar and oil, I still start off my meals with a tomato brushetta, delicately soaked in olive oil. From there, it may be the special of the day (often fish), a meat ravioli topped with mushroom sauce, or the popular fettuccini alfredo topped off with a wonderful merlot! Always packed and friendly.
