Hunan Home's Restaurant, San Francisco

This is one of the two places that I like to go in Chinatown. There's a great mixture of locals and tourists. All the dishes have been delicious.

You can't go wrong ordering anything off their menu. From the delicious Chicken dishes (Spicy Crispy Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken to the Hunan Smoked Pork, every dish offers great taste at great prices. Everyday you can see this restaurant filled with the Financial District crowd during lunch and happy families eating on the weekends. The decor is simple and clean and accomodating. I've taken many friends from out of town over the years and they always leave with a full stomach and huge smile on their face. You can't miss with the following dishes: Hunan Smoked Pork, Curry Chicken, Asparagus Beef, Spicy Crispy Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Sizzling Beef, Pea Shoots, Salt & Pepper Fish Filet. If you ever get confused about what to order, the friendly wait staff would be more than happy to suggest a dish for you. Do yourself a huge favor and visit this great find tonite!

Hunan Homes is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Their variety is endless, from homestyle cooking to fancier dishes suited to family-style banquet dining. The employees are always welcoming, and the value is outstanding. You get more food than you can possibly eat in one sitting for a competitive price. Definitely worth visiting and re-visiting!

Great lunch specials at very reasonable prices. Good, clean and fresh food. Nice flavor. Surprising good service. Surprising because Asian restaurants in this price range don't usually have good service.

I have tried their sliced fish in white sauce and kang pao sliced fish. Both were great. I am a regular now!

Great for small and large (like 6-8 people) groups. Hot and sour soup is great, as is kung pao tofu, honey walnut shrimp, and orange peel beef. Great Hunan cooking. Atmosphere is informal, not too noisy.
