Whole Dungeness Crab is either steamed or garlic roasted and served with your choice of wild rice or garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables. I chose the steamed method with just sautéed vegetables. If you enjoy the inside of the crab, let your waiter know that you would like them to steam it whole and not to break it open and clean it out. The best part of the crab is inside. It reminds me of crab bisque. Grab a spoon and dig in! A tip to the kitchen: if someone orders it like this, serve it with the legs up and do not crack open the body shell so the “soup” doesn’t drain out. You can also dip your crab meat into it for a luxurious flavor. The drawn butter is good too just like with snow or king crab legs. The crab was steamed to perfection and the meat is sweet and juicy. Fog Harbor receives crab deliveries every day, freshly caught off the California coast, transported in ocean water filled tanks, held until you order it up. You can’t get anything fresher than that! The vegetables were sautéed to perfection –crisp with a wonderful butter flavor. Add a little salt and pepper and you’re good to go. Thumbs up, way up!

Great food at a reasonable price. Our visit was on valentine's day and they gave each of the ladies a beautiful red rose. Overall wonderful experience, except for the SF Health Tax (3.75%) on top of the sales tax 9+%, thanks to the big spending San Francisco politicians. Makes you want to avoid San Francisco as there are many other great places to visit. Can't blame the restaurant on that one.

The waitpeople are really great here. The first time that I came here when they sat me at my table, the told me that my server would be over shortly and that the ladies' restroom was in this direction. No one in SF does that! The bread was to die for as it reminded me of the homemade hot rolls of giant size that we made at home from scratch and splattered butter over. I had the salmon, mashed potatoes, which not many restaurant make anymore but were delicious and the veggies were wonderful! I hope there is a way to show the locals how to enojoy this place. Had a great dinner
By Bob, 7/22/07
Took a friend there for her birthday. The restaurant is nicely furnished, the food was very good, the price was nice, and the view was awesome. Had a table by the window which we opened about an inch at the bottom. Had a nice cool breeze coming our way, with a great ocean smell.. Just topped off the whole experience quite nicely. I highly recomend.

Love Chic's
By Gio, 1/18/07
I've been here many times. They have THE best Bloody Mary ever made. They're great both spicy and regular. They make a decent steak, and the flavors of all the dishes I've tried are perfectly melded together. The fresh market crab is great as long as it's not overcooked. This is the downside to this restaurant; they have the tendency to overcook the shellfish. From crabs, to mussels & clams, to prawns and shrimp, the shellfish are often overdone and a bit rubbery. If they could just get that part down, I'd give them more than 4 stars. I will continue to visit this place with each return to San Francisco, but I will also continue to find a place that can cook their shellfish just right AND blend their flavors perfectly. The view is spectacular as it overlooks the bay and you'll always see seagulls flying around and you can hear the live music spilling in from outside. The bartender is usually pretty well versed in his tasks of mixing a good drink. They have top shelf liquor; rare finds like Johnny Walker Blue Label and Patron Gran. It's a good place to eat.

Awful. Bad Food. Bad Service.
By Yahoo subscriber, 12/20/06
Tobasco overload in the Linguini and clams. Stale bread with the burger. How can they serve that food? It took 2 hours to get our food. The wait staff are wholely inattentive. If I wanted the view I'll stand outside. I can get better food elsewhere. Nothing but a bad tourist trap and meat market.

Only one word...Awesome!
By ~**~Becca~**~, 6/6/06
Visited San Francisco, and found this to be an awesome place! Located on Pier 39, it has an awesome view of the bay...especially at sunset...the food was delicious, (highly recommend the crab and shrimp stuffed salmon, and the crab cakes, yummy!) well priced, the dessert tray...awesome!, a very good assortment...and the staff was extremely nice! All in all a great experience.
