Delicious Food, Lovely Owner
I happened to got to the restaurant when the owner was there. He was a lovely man, who was not only friendly but also charming. Because we had made a reservation days before, we were seated almost immediately. The waiter was as lovely and charming as the owner, and I was quite please with the service.
For an appetiser we ordered the bruschetta with tomatoes and basil. I ordered the duck breast with mushroom ragout, which was simply gorgeous. It was tender and flavourful with a great sauce to go with it, and the waiter consistedly visited our table to ensure our needs were met. Rather than have the potatoes with my meal, I replaced them with vegetables that were cooked just right. I would have ordered the Prix Fix, but the menu choices didn't include the duck.
I followed that with the dessert, simply because they served my favourite: creme brulee. The dessert was delicious; it was neither too thick nor too runny, and it had enough vanilla in it to be noticable without overpowering. The sugar topping was crisp, and the creme brulee was still warm, when it was served to me.
The ambiance was a bit overcrowded, with tables somewhat too close together; however, with the number of people waiting, I would imagine they need the tables to serve as many people as possible.
Overall, I was very pleased with the service and food. Clemintine is a bit on the expensive side with my budget, but it's well worth it for a nice evening out. I highly recommend this restaurant for a date or a group night out.
