Two floors of delicious dining await you at this tastefully restored Victorian eatery. Dark wood and bright lace curtains for the backdrop for elegant dining with such meticulously prepared dishes as 'Kaeng Phed Ped Yang', a succulent curried roast duck coated with aromatic spices and stuffed with tomatoes and pineapple and gingered prawns simmered in a clay pot. Other selections include flavorful noodle dishes and a nice array of curries in different styles and intensities as well as piquant satays. The service for the local fans of Thai food is gracious and unobtrusive. Please call for further information.
Ordered delivery for the first time from this restaurant. Food got here in good time. However, I felt they were pretty skimpy on the food.
I spent nearly $40 on two entrees, soup, and fried rice. The Param chicken was good, but the portion was very small. The Pad Ta Lay, seafood combination was ok, I had better, but again the portion was small. The Tom Yum Gai chicken soup was ok as well, it had a funky sweet taste to it, and the fried rice was good.
For the price that I spent on this dinner, I felt that I should have got more. Would I try this place out again??? Probalby not. I'll stick with my favorite thai restaurant Thai Express on Castro St.
We've been getting take-out from these guys for over two years. It makes me so sad that they aren't mobbed with people - because the food is so good, and the proprietor is seriously the nicest man on the planet. Yellow curry yum- spicy but not too. Delicious soup, amazing spring rolls. The decor is not inspiring, but they deliver (and they've never gotten my order wrong - serious San Francisco restaurant miracle).
This is our go-to take out spot though it's great to go to as well. Great Thai food served by the nicest man on earth, Lek (who is also the owner). Highly recommend the Pad See Ew with Chicken which is delicious as is the Beef Green Curry. Other favorites are sauteed eggplant (if you like that sort of thing) and the Gai Ka Prow. Spicey and yummy! Run don't walk to this Cole Valley staple!
We had an excellent Thai dinner on Oct. 18, 2005. The food was freshly prepared, the ingredients were the best, the service was prompt and attentive, the prices were not outrageous.
We are at home in North Beach where good restaurants abound, but we happened on this place in Cole Valley and are very happy to have found it. We will no doubt return at some other time. Pat & Mike Lusse
