Only at Fresca will you find A Nouveau Peruvian Cuisine, a modernized style of Peruvian food crafted by Chef Jose Calvo-Perez, son of Julio and Zoila. We are proud to feature both traditional and A Nouveau Culinary styles in modernized presentations. We keep the Peruvian cuisine alive by keeping all traditional Peruvian ingredients and incorporating them into all our creations. Stop in and become a regular! Lot's of fun things going on here at Fresca and we want you to be a part of it. We have introduced a new weekend brunch menu and we are creating some new Happy Hour menus that will feature some of our fantastic wines and savory appetizers! Yum! Stop by and meet our new General Manager, Tony Rasmussen and welcome back our Chef, Manuel Rodriguez along with the rest of the team that makes Fresca on Fillmore a fabulous place to dine. Cheers!

Paella of your dreams!

The Seafood Paella is excellent! And there are like at least 20 types of Ceviche (kind of like fancy salsa? with big chunks of seafood and great flavoring served cold...for those of you unfamiliar with this dish). Anywaym, back to the Paella. It is curry rice, served with muscles, prawns, clams, and more 20 dollars a plate..but enough food to share!. The ambiance is great. I especially love the one on FIllmore but it is wicked crouded at night... Try it out...seafood lovers welcome!

The food is delicious. Ceviche is soooo good and the Pescado a lo macho i s sooooo good too. Peruvian food is the best in the world

Horrible Food and Service

I waited a long time to be seated. No one seemed to care. The food was greasy and it tasted bland. The waiter was also clumsy. I do not recommend this restaurant.

West Portal location is better

Everyone wants to be hip and pick this place as a hidden gem. First of all, there is no space in that place. Not cozy, crammped. Second, the food is average. The Lomo Saltado, their signature dish, has lessened in quality these last few years. They have a location in West Portal--much better. 3/5

Food vs. Service

The food at Fresca is great - just like the other reviews indicate. The service, however, isn't up to par. I've been several times, both to dine-in and carry-out and the staff always seems to fumble in one capacity or another. So it's up to you - will mediocre service ruin the taste of your meal?

The sea bass melts in your mouth

My boyfriend took me here on one of our first dates. I got the seabass and it just melted in my mouth. The food was great and the ambiance is quite nice. Definitely should make a reservation and leave a good amount of extra time to look for parking.

The excellent food is worth every minute of waiting (45 minutes). The ceviches are a MUST! We had the rainbow trout and it was wonderful. The most popular dish seems to be the halibut, though. The restaurant is not too big, but the atmosphere is really great. We had a seat at the bar, so we could watch the chefs in action. It was quite an experience. The staff was very friendly. If you don

Limon or Fresca

That is the question. I personally really like both of these Peruvian restaurants. I've been to both the Fresca in Pac Heights and the original in West Portal. Definitely try the ceviche. All the dishes have great flavor and are cooked with care.
