Only at Fresca will you find A Nouveau Peruvian Cuisine, a modernized style of Peruvian food crafted by Chef Jose Calvo-Perez, son of Julio and Zoila. We are proud to feature both traditional and A Nouveau Culinary styles in modernized presentations. We keep the Peruvian cuisine alive by keeping all traditional Peruvian ingredients and incorporating them into all our creations. Stop in and become a regular! Lot's of fun things going on here at Fresca and we want you to be a part of it. We have introduced a new weekend brunch menu and we are creating some new Happy Hour menus that will feature some of our fantastic wines and savory appetizers! Yum! Stop by and meet our new General Manager, Tony Rasmussen and welcome back our Chef, Manuel Rodriguez along with the rest of the team that makes Fresca on Fillmore a fabulous place to dine. Cheers!
Unfortunately, had a bad time at dinner. Recommended wine was undrinkable and recommended appetizer was unedible. Food came out on cold plates - not cool, COLD. Way underdone fish. At least they comped dessert and another 2 glasses of wine.
I first fell in love with Peruvian food at Fresca. The atmosphere is crowded with people, food, wine glasses, and small and medium sized plates. The wait was a bit extensive as they can get quite crowded even with reservations. The ceviche dishes stay in my memory to this day and the red wine selection was varied and unique.
We had a table right in the window where we could people-watch on a Sunday afternoon. Didn't expect the food to be SO GOOD! (trout & ceviche) and the prices relatively reasonable. Music added a lively atmosphere. Waitress was sweet but never brought the rice & beans and took forever to get our check. Other than that, we will DEFINATELY go back (especially since Elite Cafe, a former favorite, has gone down hill so badly. But that's another review...)
My friends and I go there all the time on our lunch break. We love it. It is always consistently delicious on a variety of menu items. The service is great. It is very busy during lunch time, so I can only imagine dinner time is insane!
I really enjoyed the food there and the ambiance was fantastic. I can't wait to go back for more! On a scale from 1-10, I would probably rate the service an 8! Although the food would be flying off the scale.
Go to Fresca, you'll loovve it!!!
Fresca has excellent food, but poor service. The latter has not stopped me from coming back multiple times to enjoy the: ceviche de cinco elementos, (authentic)papa rellena, and the amazing lenguado con risotto.
I highly recommend checking this place out, as you will not find a better Peruvian restaurant in all of the Bay Area.
Everything about this place is a refreshing change of pace: an original menu, attention to detail, friendly staff who know about wine, gorgeous, beautifully presented food made with the freshest ingredients, reasonable prices, a relaxed atmosphere, tasteful, unpretentious decor.....a feast for the senses that won't bankrupt you. Beware: this place could become a habit.
