Worst Chinese in SF
By ,
Probably the worst Chinese food in SF - look around, do you see any Chinese people eating there? The only reason it's in business is b/c it's located in a part of town where they are few dining options. I've had steam table buffet Chinese that is way better than the food at this place.

Great Mom & Pop Chinese
By ,
Henry's is a GREAT, inexpensive, authentic Chinese restaurant. The food is really good hunan - spicy and interesting. Located at the edge of China town, the ambiance is clean but not sophisticated (tables, chairs, linoleum floor). This is my favorite spot for dinner with work friends or friends from out of town. My current favorite dish: the tofu with meat sauce. A close second: Henry's Special (chicken, scallops and shrimp with elephant ear mushrooms and a spicy sauce).

Excellent Hunan Cuisine
By ,
It is reported that Henry introduced Hunan and Szechwan cuisine to the US. Terrific dishes: Hot and Sour Soup, Steamed Dumplings, Onion Cake, Hot and Sour Beef, Hot and Sour Chicken, Bean Curd with Meat Sauce, Marty's Special; basically anything at any of Henry's restaurants is really good. Been going to his restaurants for almost twenty-five years.

A must go
By ,
Great food, great value. Recommend smoked ham and green beans or the hot and sour beef. The system wants me to write at least 25 words, which I refuse, just get yourself there and enjoy.

Bad take out
By ,
I have been eating from this restaurant for 20 years. Throughout those years have noticed that some entrees are better than others based on the chef for the night. Today we ordered take-out, which we do on occasion, and the two containers we ordered were only half full. A first time experience. When I phoned the restaurant, I was told too bad and by the way, we were mischarged for our meal and we actually owe them an additional sum of $12.80. No apology for the lack of food for our order nor any explanation for our order being only half fulfilled. When I asked to speak with the owner I was told they were in China and would not be back for months. I guess, my warning for anyone is, if you do take out, check the container. For those dining in, some days are better than others for the cuisine.

Wish there was a Henry's in San Diego!
By ,
This was by far some of the best Chinese food my wife and I have had. Off the beaten path from Chinatown, but well worth the walk. We ordered a variety of dishes and each one was perfectly seasoned. Can't wait until we go back again!

Good Food for the lunchtime crowd
By ,
Good food for the lunchtime crowd. Some dishes are a little spicey and some are a little bland.
